Why the warehouse being in Delaware actually matters
Five US states charge no state sales tax at all: Delaware, New Hampshire, Oregon, Montana and Alaska. Our US warehouse is in Delaware, which means a purchase delivered there is billed without the state sales tax that most American addresses would add — typically several percent, and on a large electronics order that is real money.
It is worth being precise about what this does and does not do, because forwarder marketing tends to blur it. It removes a US tax at the point of purchase. It does not touch what Spain charges when the parcel arrives: 21% import VAT applies from the first euro, plus duty under the rules described below.
So the honest framing is that a tax-free-state address removes one layer of cost, not all of them — and that the bigger saving on this route usually comes from consolidation rather than from tax.

Spanish customs and VAT on a parcel from the USA (September 2026)
This is the part that changed recently and that most forwarder pages have not updated. The €150 customs-duty allowance that low-value parcels used to enjoy no longer exists — Regulation (EU) 2026/382 of the Council, of 11 February 2026, removed it. Here is what applies now:

Read the shape of that curve rather than the individual numbers. The weight multiplies by ten and the price by about three and a half, which tells you exactly where the money is on this route: ten small parcels forwarded separately is the expensive way to buy, and one consolidated box is the cheap one.
We also ran the same route through a well-known US forwarder's calculator on the same day, and the table below is what came back. Box dimensions move any quote, so treat it as a like-for-like snapshot rather than a tariff — and get your own number from the calculator on this page.
Two things we won't promise. A delivery date, because the carrier, the service level and customs inspections decide that and none of them answer to us. And taxes paid upfront, because Spain bills them at clearance. What you do get before committing is the real freight figure from the calculator, photos of what actually arrived at the warehouse, and paperwork accurate enough that clearance doesn't stall on a mismatched declaration.

Buying in the USA and shipping to Spain
State sales tax, yes: our US warehouse is in Delaware, one of the five states that charge none, so a purchase delivered there doesn't carry it. What it does not avoid is Spanish import VAT and duty, which your destination charges on arrival. Anyone promising you both is selling you something.
Spanish VAT of 21% applies from the first euro — there has been no VAT-free threshold since 2021. On duty, the old €150 allowance is gone: Regulation (EU) 2026/382 replaced it from 1 July 2026 with a fixed €3 per article in the IOSS and designated-postal lane, running until 1 July 2028, with the Common Customs Tariff applying in the other cases.
