Why Adidas Germany

What US sneaker buyers get from Adidas.de

Adidas Germany is the brand's home market. Adidas.de regularly carries exclusive colorways, limited Originals drops and performance models that either arrive in the US much later or not at all. EUR pricing often works out 10–20% cheaper than the US site, especially during German sale periods. For serious Adidas fans, the German site is the best source. Shipping from Europe to the United States typically takes 6–12 business days with full tracking and export documentation handled by Resendify.

What to buy from adidas.de (ship to the USA)

adidas.de is the brand's home-market flagship store, run from Herzogenaurach, Germany. It carries the deepest European terrace-sneaker assortment and the EU-first colorways US shoppers chase - the terrace icons in their original European breadth, plus Germany national-team football kit and premium 'Made in Germany' Originals that often never reach adidas.com/us.

The catch: adidas geo-restricts each regional site to its own country, so adidas.de will not ship to a US address at all. A free Resendify German forwarding address gives you a domestic DE delivery point, so you can buy the European drop on European timing and re-ship it to the USA. Register the address first, then check out on adidas.de as a local German order.

  • Terrace icons in EU-first colorways: Samba OG (~EUR 100-120), Gazelle (~EUR 110), Handball Spezial (~EUR 110-120), Campus and SL 72
  • Running: Ultraboost, Adizero and Supernova
  • Football: Germany national-team kit and boots, deepest on the home-market German site
  • Premium 'Made in Germany' Originals - e.g. the ZX 8000 'Made in Germany' (JR4609, ~EUR 150) rolling out via European retailers from mid-January 2026 - a line that frequently doesn't reach adidas.com/us
  • Budget terrace lines around ~EUR 60-80, plus Originals and Sportswear apparel and accessories
  • Single pairs are light (~0.8-1.2 kg packed), so forwarding cost stays low relative to the shoe price
The problem

Adidas.de doesn't ship to the USA. Here's the fix.

🚫

Adidas.de blocks US delivery

Adidas Germany's checkout refuses non-European addresses. You need a German shipping address to complete any purchase on adidas.de.

💸

US prices are inflated

The same Adidas shoe or apparel piece often costs 10–20% more on adidas.com than on adidas.de, even at full price — the gap widens during German sales.

📋

Exclusive drops stay in Europe

Many limited-edition Adidas Originals and collaboration releases are European exclusives that never officially reach US retail channels.

🕐

US restocks lag the German launch

New performance lines and Originals collections launch on adidas.de weeks before US availability, if they come at all.

Adidas Germany sizing: order by the EU number

Adidas uses EU sizing as its base, so on adidas.de footwear is listed in EU numbers. The most reliable move is to order by the EU number straight from the size chart rather than assuming your US number converts cleanly. Two gotchas to watch: US-to-UK is about a half size (US 10 = UK 9.5), and adidas men's vs women's differs by a full size (US 10 men = US 11 women) - the opposite direction from some Nike charts.

On fit: lifestyle and terrace models (Samba, Gazelle, Stan Smith, Superstar) generally fit true to size but can feel narrow, and some terrace silhouettes run slightly large; running models (Ultraboost, Supernova) run true to size. Apparel uses EU/international clothing sizes (S/M/L plus EU numeric), so check the cm-based size chart on the product page before you buy.

  • Order by the EU number from the chart - don't assume your US number converts cleanly
  • Men's vs women's differs by a full size (US 10 men = US 11 women), opposite to some Nike charts
  • US-to-UK is about a half size down (US 10 = UK 9.5)
  • Samba, Gazelle, Stan Smith, Superstar: true to size but can feel narrow; some terrace models run slightly large
  • Ultraboost and Supernova: true to size
  • Apparel uses EU/international sizes - check the cm-based chart, not your US letter size

US customs & import duty (EU → USA), explained

Here is the honest version most forwarders won't tell you. The old US$800 "de minimis" exemption that let small parcels enter the United States duty-free was suspended on 29 August 2025, and the suspension applies to EU shipments too. That exemption no longer exists: US import duty can now apply to your order from the very first dollar, with no value threshold below which clothing arrives free. The upside for your budget is that the US has no federal VAT or GST, so at the border you face customs duty only — not a value-added tax. Any state sales or use tax is your own obligation and is never collected by the courier. One more number to plan around: your your EU store prices already include Spain's 21% VAT, and shipping through a forwarder to an EU address does not let a private shopper reclaim that VAT (a tourist refund needs a personal export with a customs stamp, which a forwarder can't do). So budget against the .es sticker price, not a tax-free one.

The one figure we deliberately won't pin down is the exact duty rate, because in 2026 it is genuinely in flux. An IEEPA-based tariff framework was struck down in February 2026, and a temporary Section 122 surcharge now sits on top of the normal HTS apparel rates — so any single "X% on clothes" number you read online is probably already stale. Rather than guess, we estimate your full landed cost — item value, plus duty, plus shipping — before you ship, so there are no surprises at delivery. Create your free Spanish forwarding address, fill your cart at your EU store, and run it through our shipping calculator for the real number before you commit.

VAT on adidas.de, honestly: what you save and what you don't

The euro prices on adidas.de are VAT-inclusive: they already include 19% German VAT (MwSt). Here is the honest part - shipping to a forwarder address inside the EU means that German VAT is charged on the sale and is generally not reclaimable by a private consumer. A tourist VAT refund requires you to personally export the goods and get a customs stamp; a forwarding service cannot do that for you, so we never promise a VAT refund via forwarding.

The real value is different and still strong: access and price angle. adidas.de won't sell to a US address at all without an EU delivery point, and it lists EU-first and Europe-first colorways plus premium 'Made in Germany' Originals that frequently never reach adidas.com/us. Listed EUR prices sit roughly at parity with the USD numbers on adidas.com/us, so you're paying European retail in euros for models and colorways you simply can't buy stateside.

This is general information, not tax advice. EU VAT included in adidas.de prices is generally not reclaimable by a private shopper using a forwarding address; we do not facilitate VAT refunds. Source: German VAT Refund for non-EU exports (German Federal Foreign Office).

Shipping weight from Germany and what it costs

Sneakers are light cargo, which is good news for forwarding from Germany. The shoes themselves weigh roughly 0.31-0.35 kg per pair (Samba OG ~0.35 kg, Ultraboost ~0.31 kg); with the shoe box and shipping packaging, a typical single-pair forwarded parcel runs about 0.8-1.2 kg. Apparel pieces add only a few hundred grams each, so most orders ship well under ~1.5 kg unless you combine multiple pairs.

One thing to watch: shoe boxes are bulky, so carriers may bill by volumetric (dimensional) weight rather than actual weight. Consolidating several pairs - or adding apparel into one outbound box - spreads that base cost over more items, and that is where forwarding really pays off. Run your exact basket through the on-page calculator before you buy.

  • Shoes alone: ~0.31-0.35 kg per pair; packed single-pair parcel ~0.8-1.2 kg
  • Apparel adds only a few hundred grams per piece
  • Shoe boxes are bulky - expect carriers to bill by volumetric weight, not just actual weight

Landed cost to the USA: a worked example

Here's an illustrative landed-cost estimate (dated 2026-06-13) for a typical single-pair adidas.de order - a Samba OG at about EUR 110, with 19% German VAT already included in that euro price. Numbers are rounded and use an approximate EUR/USD rate for illustration only; this is not a quote.

The big change to understand: the US $800 de minimis (Section 321) was suspended on 2025-08-29, so low-value parcels are no longer duty-free and US import duty can apply from the first dollar. The exact rate is volatile in 2026 - the IEEPA 15% framework was struck down in February 2026 and a temporary Section 122 surcharge of about 10% can sit on top of normal HTS rates - so we show duty as a 10-20% band rather than a single fixed rate. Note the US has no federal VAT; only customs duty applies at the border, and any state sales/use tax is your own obligation, not collected by customs. Run your actual order through the on-page calculator and register a free EU forwarding address to get a real estimate before you buy.

Line itemEstimate (USD)
Samba OG (~EUR 110, incl. 19% DE VAT)~$120
Forwarding (single pair, ~0.8-1.2 kg)~$25-40
Estimated US duty (10-20% band)~$12-24
Estimated landed cost~$157-184

Illustrative only, dated 2026-06-13. The US $800 de minimis was suspended 2025-08-29, so duty can apply from the first dollar; 2026 duty rates are in flux (IEEPA 15% framework struck down Feb 2026; temporary ~10% Section 122 surcharge on normal HTS rates), shown here as a 10-20% band. Figures use an approximate EUR/USD rate and are not a quote. State sales/use tax is the buyer's own obligation. Returns from the USA: plan to get the size right

Adidas's standard policy is free returns within 30 days, with footwear in its original shoe box and apparel unworn with tags attached in original packaging. The catch for a US shopper buying via a German address: that domestic-EU free-return window applies to the German delivery address, not to you in the US. Once an item has been forwarded across the Atlantic, returning it means shipping back to Germany at your own cost and time, and refunds take roughly 10-14 days to process once received.

In practice, returns from abroad are slow and costly, so the smart play is to nail the size and colorway before you forward. Use the EU size chart, double-check men's vs women's, and if you're unsure between two sizes, decide before the parcel leaves Germany.

  • Standard policy: free returns within 30 days, unworn, footwear in original box, apparel with tags
  • That free window applies to the German delivery address, not internationally
  • Returning from the US means shipping back to Germany at your own cost and time
  • Refunds take roughly 10-14 days to process once received
  • Best practice: confirm size and colorway before forwarding - returns from abroad are slow and costly
