Why buy from El Corte Inglés?

Europe's largest department store — Spanish brands you can't get in the USA

El Corte Inglés is Spain's flagship department store and the biggest in Europe. One catalog covers Spanish and international fashion, beauty and perfume, electronics, home, and the famous Club del Gourmet food hall — Spanish wine, olive oil, jamón ibérico and turrón. It does not ship to the United States. Resendify gives you a free Spain address to buy on elcorteingles.es and forward everything to the USA. Shipping time from Europe to the United States depends on the carrier and service level you choose, with full tracking and export documentation handled by Resendify.

What to actually buy from El Corte Inglés Spain and ship to the USA

El Corte Inglés isn't a single brand — it's Spain's (and Europe's) largest department store, the home market for Spanish-origin labels that barely exist in US retail. That's the whole reason to shop elcorteingles.es and ship to the USA: you reach Loewe, Bimba y Lola, Camper, Tous and El Corte Inglés's own lines (Emidio Tucci menswear, plus women's labels Easy Wear, Green Coast, Gloria Ortiz, Elogy) at Spanish home-market prices, alongside a full luxury perfumery (Carolina Herrera, Paco Rabanne, YSL, Armani, Guerlain, Clarins) and niche/clean lines like Freshly Cosmetics, Cocunat and Paula's Choice. Euro prices already include Spain's 21% IVA, and that VAT stays in the price when you forward to a US address — forwarding does not reclaim it.

One thing to get right before you fall in love with the gourmet hall: El Corte Inglés does NOT ship most categories outside the EU. Per its own delivery rules, only fashion, accessories, watches, books, music, film and video games ship worldwide. Electronics, home, sport, suitcases, wine and baby ship to EU destinations only, and the famous Club del Gourmet — Cinco Jotas (5J) jamón ibérico, Manchego, Spanish wine — is sold for domestic Spanish delivery and isn't internationally shipped (and US food-import rules largely bar cured pork anyway). That gap is exactly what a Spanish forwarding address closes: you check out like a local to an EU address, and we consolidate and reship the forwardable categories to your door in the US.

The pieces worth forwarding are the Spanish-design fashion and beauty you can't easily get stateside — and a forwarder also lets you combine several orders into one parcel. Returns on an international order are the shopper's burden, so size carefully and run a shipping quote before you check out. Claim your free Spanish address at registration to start.

  • Spanish design at home-market prices — Loewe, Bimba y Lola (handbags roughly €125–€165 full price, sale pieces around €62.50–€82.50), Camper, Tous: leather and fashion labels with thin or no US retail presence
  • El Corte Inglés own labels — Emidio Tucci menswear, plus Easy Wear, Green Coast, Gloria Ortiz and Elogy for women (Easy Wear basics like a polo or swimwear around €19.99)
  • Luxury perfumery — Carolina Herrera, Paco Rabanne and other Puig fragrances, plus Armani, YSL, Guerlain and Clarins, often in the full European shade and fragrance range
  • Niche / clean beauty — Freshly Cosmetics, Cocunat and Paula's Choice, easy-to-pack add-ons that consolidate well into one parcel
  • Watches, books, music and accessories — the other categories El Corte Inglés will actually ship worldwide, so they're safe to forward
  • What you CAN'T forward to the US: electronics, home, sport, suitcases, wine and baby (EU-only) and all Club del Gourmet food like Cinco Jotas jamón (domestic-Spain only; US bars cured pork imports) — plan around fashion and beauty

Note: El Corte Inglés ships only fashion, accessories, watches, books, music, film and video games worldwide; electronics, home, sport, suitcases, wine and baby are EU-only, and gourmet food is domestic-Spain only — verified 13 Jun 2026 at elcorteingles.es. Prices and availability change. Since 29 Aug 2025 the US $800 de minimis no longer applies, so US import duty can apply from the first dollar; 2026 rates are changing, so we estimate your landed cost before you ship. Check CBP (cbp.gov) for current import rules. Source: El Corte Inglés — Delivery (international shipping rules by category).

The problem

El Corte Inglés doesn't ship to the USA. Here's the fix.

🚫

elcorteingles.es delivers within Spain only

El Corte Inglés restricts online delivery to Spanish addresses, so its enormous catalog — fashion, beauty, electronics, home and gourmet food — is out of reach from the United States.

🛍️

Spanish labels and exclusive house brands

El Corte Inglés stocks Spanish designers and its own house brands that are rarely exported, making it a one-stop way to buy Spanish products hard to find in the US.

🍷

Club del Gourmet food hall

Spanish wine, olive oil, jamón ibérico and turrón from the Club del Gourmet are far cheaper at source. Some food items carry US import rules, so we advise before forwarding.

💄

Beauty, perfume and EU electronics

The beauty and perfume departments and EU-priced electronics are sold for the Spanish market. Note that perfumes can face air-freight limits on certain routes.

El Corte Inglés sizing: EU to US/UK conversion (and a note on beauty)

El Corte Inglés uses Spanish/EU sizing throughout, so US shoppers need to convert — match the EU column below, not the US number on your usual brand's tag. The rule of thumb for women's apparel is US ≈ EU − 32 (EU 38 ≈ US 6, EU 40 ≈ US 8, EU 42 ≈ US 10). Men's jackets and suits run US ≈ EU − 10 (EU 50 ≈ US 40, EU 54 ≈ US 44). Footwear is EU-numbered: women's US ≈ EU − 31 and men's US ≈ EU − 33 (men's EU 42 ≈ US 9). Spanish and Italian-cut clothing — including the El Corte Inglés own labels and brands like Bimba y Lola — tends to run slim, so if you're between sizes, size up. Because an international return goes all the way back to Spain at your own cost, getting the size right the first time is the real money-saver; check each product's own size chart and measure in cm before you order.

For beauty there's no clothing table to worry about — just two things. First, sizes are metric: fragrance comes in ml (a 50 ml EDP, a 30 ml serum) rather than US fl oz, and concentration labels (EDT / EDP / Parfum) read the same as in the US. Second, EU SPF uses the ISO/Colipa scale (SPF 30 / 50 / 50+), which can read differently from US FDA SPF numbers, and an EU-formulated product or shade range may differ from the US-market version of the same brand. Our team can sanity-check a fit or a product spec before you order to the free Spanish forwarding address you claim at registration.

  • Women's apparel: US ≈ EU − 32 (EU 38 ≈ US 6, EU 40 ≈ US 8, EU 42 ≈ US 10) — match the EU number, not the US label on your usual brand.
  • Men's jackets/suits: US ≈ EU − 10 (EU 50 ≈ US 40, EU 54 ≈ US 44).
  • Footwear is EU-numbered: women's US ≈ EU − 31, men's US ≈ EU − 33 (men's EU 42 ≈ US 9).
  • Spanish/Italian-cut clothing runs slim — size up if you're between sizes, and check the per-product chart.
  • Beauty: metric ml/g (50 ml EDP, 30 ml serum), EDT/EDP/Parfum same as US; EU SPF uses the ISO/Colipa scale (30/50/50+) and EU formulas/shade ranges can differ from the US version of the same brand.
  • International returns go back to Spain at your cost, so confirm size before ordering rather than relying on a refund.

Size conversions are approximate guides (women's apparel rule of thumb US ≈ EU − 32; footwear women's US ≈ EU − 31, men's US ≈ EU − 33); cuts vary by brand and run slim, so measure in cm and check each product's chart before ordering. US customs & import duty (EU → USA), explained

Here is the honest version most forwarders won't tell you. The old US$800 "de minimis" exemption that let small parcels enter the United States duty-free was suspended on 29 August 2025, and the suspension applies to EU shipments too. That exemption no longer exists: US import duty can now apply to your order from the very first dollar, with no value threshold below which clothing arrives free. The upside for your budget is that the US has no federal VAT or GST, so at the border you face customs duty only — not a value-added tax. Any state sales or use tax is your own obligation and is never collected by the courier. One more number to plan around: your your EU store prices already include Spain's 21% VAT, and shipping through a forwarder to an EU address does not let a private shopper reclaim that VAT (a tourist refund needs a personal export with a customs stamp, which a forwarder can't do). So budget against the .es sticker price, not a tax-free one.

The one figure we deliberately won't pin down is the exact duty rate, because in 2026 it is genuinely in flux. An IEEPA-based tariff framework was struck down in February 2026, and a temporary Section 122 surcharge now sits on top of the normal HTS apparel rates — so any single "X% on clothes" number you read online is probably already stale. Rather than guess, we estimate your full landed cost — item value, plus duty, plus shipping — before you ship, so you can plan with a realistic estimate. Create your free Spanish forwarding address, fill your cart at your EU store, and run it through our shipping calculator for the real number before you commit.

VAT and tax-free on El Corte Inglés orders: the honest version

We'll be straight with you, because most forwarding sites won't — and this one matters, because El Corte Inglés advertises export pricing. Spain charges 21% IVA, and yes, a genuine export outside the EU can have that VAT removed. The catch: that only works when the goods actually leave the EU as an export under your name. When you ship to a Spanish forwarding address, the order is a domestic EU sale, EU VAT is charged, and a private consumer generally cannot reclaim it. The tourist VAT refund (Tax Free) needs you to personally carry the goods out of the EU and get a customs stamp on departure — a forwarder cannot do that on your behalf. So we will never promise you a VAT refund through forwarding; budget against the IVA-inclusive .es price, not a tax-free one.

Here's why El Corte Inglés is still worth it: it's the European home market for Spanish-origin brands — Loewe, Bimba y Lola, Camper, Tous — so the full current range, exclusive colorways and Spanish-only pieces appear there first and at local pricing, and many of these labels have thin or no US retail presence. Home-market prices on Spanish brands sit materially below US boutique pricing, and it's the practical way to reach EU-only categories and consolidate a multi-store haul. The value isn't a tax dodge; it's access to a catalog and price level US shoppers simply can't get at home.

Claim your free Spanish forwarding address to shop the full elcorteingles.es range, then run your basket through our calculator for a landed-cost estimate — IVA-inclusive Spanish price plus shipping and any US duty — before you commit.

Tax note (verified 13 June 2026): Spain's 21% IVA is included in elcorteingles.es prices. Although a true export outside the EU can be VAT-free, shipping to an EU forwarding address is a domestic EU sale, so the VAT is generally not reclaimable by a private buyer — we never promise a VAT refund via forwarding (a tourist refund requires personal export with a customs stamp, which a forwarder cannot do). The US has no federal VAT or GST, only customs duty at the border (state sales/use tax is the buyer's own obligation, not collected by customs). The US $800 de minimis exemption (Section 321) was suspended for all origins, including the EU, on 29 Aug 2025, so US customs duty can now apply from the first dollar. 2026 US duty rates are volatile and being litigated, so we don't quote a fixed permanent rate; we estimate your landed cost before you ship. What it costs to ship an El Corte Inglés order to the USA

When you buy from El Corte Inglés and ship to the USA, your forwarding cost tracks weight, so knowing how the forwardable categories add up is the fastest way to predict your bill. The categories that can leave the EU are light: a garment is about 0.3–1 kg, a boxed leather handbag (think Bimba y Lola or Tous) roughly 0.6–1.2 kg, a boxed fragrance 0.3–0.5 kg, skincare 0.1–0.4 kg, and boxed shoes about 0.8–1.5 kg. A typical forwardable fashion-and-beauty order lands around 0.5–2 kg — an easy single parcel. (The heavy outliers, like a whole 6.5–8 kg bone-in jamón, simply can't ship to the US anyway, so they never enter your shipping math.)

Couriers bill the higher of actual versus volumetric (dimensional) weight. For El Corte Inglés that mostly bites on bulky outerwear and boxed shoes, which read heavier by volume; flat, dense pieces and a leather bag bill close to their real weight, and skincare/fragrance are dense and cheap to ship. The single biggest saving is consolidation: place several El Corte Inglés orders, let them all arrive at your free Spanish address, and we combine them into one box so you pay a single international leg instead of one charge per parcel. Run your exact items through the on-page calculator for a live cost band, then register a free Spanish address to start consolidating.

  • Consolidation is the real saving: combine several El Corte Inglés orders into one box and pay a single international leg instead of one charge per parcel.
  • One box also means one customs entry. US import duty now applies (the $800 de minimis ended 29 Aug 2025 and parcels are no longer duty-free), so we estimate your full landed cost — shipping plus duty — before you commit.
  • Volumetric weight mainly bites on bulky outerwear and boxed shoes; a leather bag, garments and skincare bill close to actual weight.
  • Only forwardable categories count toward weight — gourmet/jamón and EU-only goods can't ship to the US at all.
  • Run your exact items through the on-page quote calculator for a live cost band, then register a free Spanish address to start consolidating.
El Corte Inglés itemApprox. weight
Skincare item0.1–0.4 kg
Garment (apparel)0.3–1.0 kg
Boxed fragrance0.3–0.5 kg
Leather handbag (boxed)0.6–1.2 kg
Boxed shoes0.8–1.5 kg (heavier by volume)
Typical fashion + beauty order0.5–2.0 kg

Weights are typical estimates for planning only; couriers bill the higher of actual vs volumetric weight. Only forwardable categories (fashion, accessories, watches, beauty in fashion orders, books, music) can ship to the US. US import duty now applies from the first dollar — the $800 de minimis was suspended on 29 Aug 2025 — and 2026 rates are still changing, so we estimate your landed cost before you ship. A worked example: landed cost of an El Corte Inglés order to the USA

Here's an illustrative landed-cost estimate for a typical forwardable El Corte Inglés basket, dated 13 June 2026 so you can sanity-check it against today's rules. We use fashion and beauty because that's what actually ships to the US — the gourmet hall and EU-only categories don't. Say you buy a Bimba y Lola leather handbag (about €145) and a boxed luxury fragrance (about €85) on elcorteingles.es — roughly €230 of goods, with Spain's 21% IVA already in those tickets. That packs to about 0.9–1.5 kg, a single easy parcel.

On top of the goods you pay one international shipping leg (lighter and cheaper if you consolidate orders into a single box) and estimated US import duty. We deliberately show duty as a band, not a single rate: since the $800 de minimis was suspended on 29 August 2025, US duty can apply from the first dollar, and 2026 rates are in flux (an IEEPA framework was struck down in February 2026, with a temporary Section 122 surcharge on top of normal HTS rates). The table below uses a 10–20% illustrative band on the goods value purely as a planning placeholder, not a quoted rate. Remember the US charges customs duty only — no federal VAT or sales tax at the border — and the Spanish IVA in your ticket is not reclaimable via forwarding. Run your exact cart through the on-page calculator and we'll estimate your real landed cost before you send.

Line itemEstimate (USD)
Goods: Bimba y Lola bag + boxed fragrance (~€230, 21% Spanish IVA included)~$250
International forwarding (consolidated, ~0.9–1.5 kg)~$35–$55
Estimated US import duty (10–20% illustrative band on goods)~$25–$50
Estimated landed cost~$310–$355

Illustrative example only, dated 13 June 2026 — not a quote, and not legal or tax advice. EUR is converted at an approximate rate and goods value includes Spain's 21% IVA (not reclaimable via forwarding). Example uses fashion/beauty because gourmet and EU-only categories can't ship to the US. The US $800 de minimis was suspended on 29 Aug 2025, so duty can apply from the first dollar; 2026 rates are volatile (IEEPA framework struck down Feb 2026; temporary Section 122 surcharge on top of HTS rates), so we show duty as a 10–20% illustrative band, not a fixed rate. The US charges customs duty only, no federal VAT or sales tax. Verify current rates and your specific tariff with CBP, and use the on-page calculator for your real landed cost. El Corte Inglés returns: 14-day right, but hard from abroad — so order carefully

Spanish and EU consumer law gives you a 14-day right of withdrawal on most goods, with refunds processed within 14 days to your original payment method. That sounds generous, but for an international order it's much harder in practice. For orders shipped abroad you have to contact El Corte Inglés Customer Service (tel. 900 363 900) and ship the item back to Spain yourself — and the return shipping plus any customs fees or local taxes are your responsibility. Return shipping from the US back to Spain is slow and expensive, and often erodes most of the value of the return. With a forwarder, the US address is the 'delivery' point, so a cross-border return becomes entirely your burden.

Two more things to plan around. First, perishable and gourmet goods (jamón, food, hampers) are explicitly excluded from the right to cancel and are non-returnable — though those can't ship to the US anyway. Second, the item must be unused and in original condition within the 14-day window. The practical takeaway is the same as for any forwarded EU order: treat each purchase as close to final, lean on the EU-to-US size guide, size up if you're between sizes on slim Spanish cuts, and confirm the fit before you order rather than relying on a return.

  • Window: 14-day right of withdrawal, refund within 14 days to the original payment method — but for abroad orders you must contact Customer Service (tel. 900 363 900) and ship it back to Spain yourself.
  • Return shipping plus any customs fees and local taxes are the customer's responsibility — slow and expensive from the US, often eroding the value of the return.
  • Perishable/gourmet goods (jamón, food, hampers) are excluded from the right to cancel and are non-returnable (and don't ship to the US anyway).
  • With a forwarder the US address is the delivery point, so a cross-border return is entirely your burden — plan as if each order is final.
  • Get it right first: Spanish/Italian cuts run slim — size up if between sizes (US ≈ EU − 32 for women's apparel) and use the size guide instead of relying on a return.

Return terms reflect El Corte Inglés policy as of June 2026 and can change (14-day right of withdrawal; abroad returns via Customer Service, shipped back to Spain at the customer's cost, including any customs fees and local taxes; perishable/gourmet goods non-returnable). Confirm current terms at elcorteingles.es before ordering. Source: El Corte Inglés — Returns and exchanges.
