Post-Brexit, the Spanish store also no longer ships to UK addresses — so the practical way for a UK shopper to reach that fuller range at EUR prices is to buy on the .es site and re-ship through an EU forwarding address.

Customs & import duty: EU to the United Kingdom
Here is the version most forwarders won't tell you. The UK has a single number that controls everything: GBP 135 per consignment, measured on the goods value alone (shipping and insurance don't count). At or below GBP 135, there is no customs duty, and the overseas seller charges 20% UK VAT at checkout. Above GBP 135, the carrier collects import VAT (and any duty) when it delivers and adds a handling fee. Note the dates: the GBP 135 duty relief is still in force today — its abolition was announced in the Autumn Budget 2025 but is future-dated 'by March 2029 at the latest,' so it does not apply now. There is no VAT-free threshold for commercial goods: above GBP 135 the 20% import VAT is charged on the full value, not just the part over GBP 135. Only genuine person-to-person gifts up to GBP 39 are VAT-free.
Duty itself is often 0% on EU-origin goods: under the UK-EU trade agreement (TCA), a valid statement of origin gets you 0% duty. Without it, standard MFN rates apply — roughly 12% on clothing, 8% on footwear, 2% on leather goods — while perfume, cosmetics, phones and laptops are 0% anyway. One caveat we won't sugarcoat: shipping to an EU forwarding address counts as a domestic EU sale, so EU VAT is charged and a private buyer generally cannot reclaim it. The tourist refund requires you to personally export the goods with a customs stamp — a forwarder cannot do that for you. VAT, honestly: what forwarding does and doesn't do
The euro price you see on shop.mango.com/es already includes Spanish/EU VAT. When you ship to a forwarding address inside the EU, that EU VAT stays in the price and a private consumer generally cannot reclaim it — the tourist/tax-free refund route requires you to personally export the goods and get a customs stamp on exit, which a forwarder cannot do on your behalf. So we will never promise you a VAT refund. The real value of buying off the EU site isn't a tax dodge: it's access to Mango's full home-market range, Spain-exclusive edits, the earliest new-season stock and deeper rebajas, with the forwarding cost spread across a multi-item order.
Forwarding to an address inside the EU does not make a purchase VAT-free and does not let a private shopper reclaim EU VAT. Shipping Mango from Spain to the UK: weights and cost intuition
Mango orders are light, which is good news for forwarding cost. A single dress, top or pair of shorts in a poly mailer is roughly 0.3–0.6 kg shipped; a typical two-to-three-item fashion order lands around 0.7–1.5 kg. Heavier pieces skew it up — a linen blazer or jeans run ~0.6–0.9 kg each, and a suede bag or boots can push a parcel toward 1.5–2 kg. Returns from the UK: plan for them being hard
On Mango's own UK storefront (mango.com/gb), returns are free within 30 days for unworn items with tags and original packaging, with refunds administered from Mango HQ in Palau-Solità i Plegamans, Spain. But that free-returns reality is tied to the UK store. When you buy the Spanish/EU site through a forwarding address, returns are neither free nor simple: you'd have to ship the parcel back to Spain at your own cost and risk, and you can lose import VAT/duty you've already paid. Treat EU-site orders as close to final — which is exactly why the size-up advice above matters.
