UK import charges on parcels from the USA (July 2026)
The UK taxes incoming parcels on two lines: import VAT and — above £135 — customs duty. US-origin goods carry no preferential rate, so standard UK Global Tariff rates apply. As of July 2026:

The honest math — and the supplement trap
A £95 box of US streetwear stays under the £135 line: no duty, roughly £19–20 of import VAT on goods plus shipping, and the courier's handling fee. A £300 camera lens pays 0% duty (photo gear is duty-free) but 20% VAT on the whole landed value. Cotton clothing above £135 adds ~12% duty and sports trainers 16% — which is why consolidating deliberately around the £135 line matters, and why we show you every parcel before it ships.
One genuine trap for supplement shoppers: melatonin is prescription-only in the UK, so don't count on a melatonin order clearing as a personal import. Fish-oil-style supplements are fine; anything containing meat or dairy is restricted from outside the EU.
