🇮🇹 → 🇲🇽 Pallets to Mexico

Pallet shipping from Italy
to Mexico

Resendify operators handing a wrapped pallet over to two business customers beside a branded truck

Several Italian suppliers consolidated into one professionally built pallet, export documentation done once, and a dated sheet on the pedimento and the customs broker. Mexico is the lane where both of our published pallet cases landed — they came out of Spain, and the method is the one we run from Italy too. Quoted per shipment on the Business plan.

The problem

Mexican importers know the pedimento. The hard part is what arrives at it.

🏭

The factory quotes ex-works and stops there

The Italian manufacturer or distributor with the right product has a domestic sales desk, not an export one. It will deliver to an address in Italy without blinking — which turns your export problem into a domestic delivery, plus palletizing and paperwork on our side of the line.

📦

Heavy goods shipped loose pay courier pricing

Doors, castings, slabs and equipment sent box by box are priced as if they were gifts. Consolidated onto one properly built pallet, the same order is weighed, documented and priced once — and dense cargo is exactly where that change of format pays for itself.

🧾

Every extra consignment is another customs event

Five shipments mean five entries, five sets of charges and five chances for a discrepancy to stop something at the border. One consolidated pallet with one invoice and one packing list is a single, checkable event.

What actually leaves Italy on a pallet

Italy exports industrial output, and industrial output is heavy. The orders that reach us from Italian suppliers are rarely a box of clothing — they are components, panels, slabs and equipment that arrive on a pallet at our warehouse and leave on a better one.

Elevator doors and components are the clearest example, and one we have handled from both Italy and Spain: landing doors, car doors, operators, guides and drive units, bought from the district that supplies most of the world's lifts, going to an installer or a developer who cannot get them locally at that price or that lead time. Vehicle parts are the other constant — braking, performance and interior components, plus the classic-car parts that only exist in Italy.

Then there is everything the buyer already knows Italy for and underestimates the weight of: Carrara and Apuan stone, Sassuolo porcelain and large-format slabs, espresso machines and pizza ovens, design furniture and lighting, and spares for Italian machinery already installed on the customer's floor.

  • Elevator doors, operators, guides and drive units — shipped from Italy and from Spain.
  • Vehicle parts: braking, performance, interior, and classic-car components.
  • Natural stone and ceramic tile — dense, fragile, and the clearest case for professional palletizing.
  • Food-service equipment: espresso machines, ovens, professional kitchen lines.
  • Design furniture and lighting, flat-packed or crated.
  • Spares and components for Italian industrial machinery.

What a pallet out of Italy is usually carrying

These are the orders this lane is built for. None of them is a container and none is a single parcel — they are the awkward middle, where the supplier sells brilliantly at home and stops at the border.

**The lift installer.** Landing doors, car doors, operators, guides and drive units, bought from the district that supplies much of the world's lift industry. The maker delivers anywhere in Italy and nowhere else; the installer is in Bogotá or Monterrey with a building waiting on a certificate.

**The workshop restocking parts.** Braking, performance and interior components, plus the classic-car parts that only exist in Italy — often from sellers that will not ship abroad at all. One order becomes a dozen sellers, and a dozen sellers becomes one pallet.

**The contractor finishing a floor.** Sassuolo porcelain or Carrara stone, ordered in the quantity a project needs rather than the container the factory prefers to load — and needed as one batch, because tone varies between production runs.

**The café or restaurant opening.** An espresso setup from one maker, a deck oven from another, prep and warewashing from a third, arriving over several weeks and leaving as one shipment timed to the opening date.

**The plant with a line down.** A gearbox, a servo, a bearing set. Small, dense, expensive and urgent — the one case where paying for air is obviously right, and where we ship without waiting to consolidate.

If yours looks like one of these, the fastest thing you can do is send us the list: what you are buying, roughly what it weighs and where it has to land. You get a quote against the real load, not a rate card.

  • Elevator doors, operators, guides and drive units — a lane we run from Italy and from Spain.
  • Vehicle parts: braking, motorsport, interior, and classic components from sellers that stay domestic.
  • Stone and porcelain in project quantity, kept in one batch so the tone matches.
  • Full opening lists for cafés and restaurants, consolidated to your date.
  • Urgent machinery spares, shipped without waiting for the rest of the order.

How the pallet is built, and why that is the part you are paying for

A pallet is not a stack of boxes with film around it. Dense Italian cargo — stone, tile, doors, castings — punishes a bad build, and a load that shifts in the hold arrives as a claim rather than as goods.

Everything is received and checked at our Italian warehouse against what you ordered, photographed, weighed and measured. Fragile faces get edge protection and corner boards; heavy items go to the base and the weight is distributed so the load travels square; the stack is strapped and wrapped, and where wood packaging is used it is ISPM-15 treated, because untreated wood is a border problem in most of the destinations we serve.

Then the paperwork happens once, for the whole pallet, instead of once per parcel: commercial invoice matching the contents, packing list, real weights and dimensions. That is the difference between a customs entry that files cleanly and one that sits waiting for someone to explain a discrepancy.

  • Reception check against your order, with photos, weights and dimensions.
  • Edge protection, corner boards, weight distribution, strapping and wrapping.
  • ISPM-15 treated wood wherever wood packaging is used.
  • One commercial invoice and one packing list for the whole pallet.
  • Repacking and re-palletizing when a supplier's own packaging will not survive the trip.

Importing into Mexico as a company: Padrón, IVA and the EU agreement

Mexico separates the courier world from the commercial one sharply. Simplified courier clearance exists for low-value, occasional shipments; a business importing for resale files a formal import (pedimento) through a licensed customs agent and must be registered on the Padrón de Importadores, with sector-specific registers for some categories. Registration is the gate: get it done before the first pallet moves, because it is not something that can be arranged while goods sit in a bonded warehouse.

On the numbers, IVA is 16% on the customs value plus duty and is normally creditable for a registered company, which means the real cost question is duty, not tax.

That is where the EU–Mexico agreement matters: goods of genuine EU origin can qualify for preferential tariff treatment when the supplier issues the origin declaration, so the same European invoice can land at a materially different duty depending on a paragraph of text.

Our part is the European side — receiving from multiple suppliers, consolidating onto a pallet where that is the right format, and issuing the commercial invoice, packing list and origin documents your agent needs to file cleanly.

  • Commercial imports go through a licensed customs agent with a pedimento — not the simplified courier route
  • Registration on the Padrón de Importadores is required; some categories need a sector register too
  • IVA 16% on customs value plus duty; normally creditable for a registered company
  • EU–Mexico agreement: preferential duty on genuine EU-origin goods with the supplier's origin declaration
  • Pallet consolidation is often the right format — see the real HPL case study on this site

What we can prove — and what we cannot claim yet

Three operations are published on this site with their real figures, and all of them ran out of Spain — two to Mexico and one to Colombia — not out of Italy. We are showing them here because the operation is the same one we run from our Italian warehouse — consolidate several suppliers, build one pallet, document it once, fly it — and because you should be able to check the format against something real before you send us an enquiry.

The HPL case: 150 panels of 8 mm, 296 kg on a 120×80×50 cm base, one pallet, with the logistics bill published in full and 17 days documented door to door. The gym fit-out: 24 packages, 317 kg, consolidated into a single pallet for a developer in Monterrey, running approximately from Day 0 to around Day 15.

What we are not going to do is dress those up as Italian results. Italy is a live origin for us — elevator doors and components have moved out of both Italy and Spain — but until an Italian operation is published here with its own numbers, the figures above stay labelled for what they are: two Spanish cases, quoted individually, on a different route.

  • Every published case is Spain-origin. Treat them as evidence of the method, not as a price or a schedule for Italy.
  • Every pallet is quoted per shipment: route, weight, volume, pickup and destination change the answer.
  • Transit is an orientative band, anchored on those two cases — never a delivery promise.

What Resendify does for a business, and what it does not

Being precise about the boundary is more useful than a list of promises. We operate receiving warehouses across ten countries — Spain, Italy, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Türkiye, the Czech Republic, the United States, China and Hong Kong — so your suppliers deliver domestically, which is what most of them are set up to do.

We check goods in, store them while an order builds across several suppliers, repack when the original packaging is not built for an international leg, consolidate into one shipment, and produce the export documentation: commercial invoice, packing list, real weights and dimensions, and the supplier origin documents that decide whether you pay a preferential duty rate or a full one.

What we are not is your customs broker in the destination country, a distributor, or a party to your trade terms. We do not clear goods on your behalf at destination, we do not hold stock we sell you, and we do not negotiate or guarantee terms with brands.

We also do not quote transit times we cannot control, and we do not tell you your goods will clear without charges. The Business plan exists precisely because a recurring importer needs a quote-based setup rather than a consumer membership: tailored workflows for repeat imports, room for packaging and repacking, volume-oriented planning and commercial support on request.

  • Receiving warehouses in 10 countries so suppliers deliver domestically
  • Check-in, storage while an order builds, and repacking for the international leg
  • Consolidation into one shipment with commercial invoice, packing list, weights and dimensions
  • We chase supplier origin declarations — the document that decides preferential duty
  • We are not your destination customs broker, not a distributor, and not a party to your trade terms
  • Business plan is quote-based: tailored workflows for repeat imports, volume-oriented planning

We declare the real value and prepare the paperwork.

Accurate invoices and customs data, so your parcel is presented as cleanly as it can be.

FAQ

Italy → Mexico pallets: what buyers ask

The method does; the numbers do not. Both published cases — the HPL pallet and the gym fit-out — ran out of Spain, and we say so on every page that cites them. What carries over is the operation: consolidate several suppliers, build one pallet, document it once, fly it, hand a clean entry to your customs broker. What does not carry over is the price or the schedule, which we quote for your actual shipment.

Your Mexican customs broker (agente aduanal) does — that is a legal requirement on the import side, not a service we substitute. What we do is give them something easy to work with: one consignment, a commercial invoice that matches the contents, a packing list, real weights and dimensions, and the origin documentation. See the dated customs section below.

We will not print a delivery promise, because pickup, consolidation and customs clearance are real variables. The anchors we can show you are the two published cases — both on the Spain → Mexico lane, not out of Italy: the HPL pallet documented 17 days door to door, and the gym fit-out ran approximately Day 0 to around Day 15. Read those as an orientative band on the order of 1–3 weeks door to door for air shipments — orientative, not a promise, and from a different origin.

Both work. Most Italian suppliers simply deliver to our Italian address as a domestic shipment, which is the cheapest path. Where a supplier only sells ex-works, pickup can be arranged and quoted as part of the shipment — tell us in the enquiry and we will price it explicitly rather than hiding it in a rate.

We receive in ten countries, Italy and Spain among them, so a mixed order is normal. What we will not do is pretend it is free: moving goods between our warehouses to build one pallet is a real cost and gets quoted as a line you can see. Sometimes two pallets from two origins beat one consolidated pallet, and we will tell you when that is the case.

They are the importer's, they are calculated at destination on the customs value, and we do not collect them upfront or estimate them as a fixed percentage — classification is the importer's or their broker's call. What we control is that the entry is easy to file: one consignment, an invoice that matches the box, real weights and dimensions.

Volume and rhythm change what you need. A consumer account is built around occasional parcels; a business buying every month needs storage that fits a build-up across suppliers, packing decisions made per shipment, documentation that a customs agent can file without chasing you, and a quote rather than a fixed membership. That is what the Business plan is for, and it is priced per case because a pallet of tools every month and a monthly box of collectibles are not the same operation.

No. Clearance at destination is done by you or your customs broker, and that is deliberate: local clearance requires local licensing and local liability. What we do is the European side and the paperwork that makes clearance straightforward — a consolidated shipment, a commercial invoice that matches the goods, a packing list, real weights and dimensions and the supplier's origin documents.

Talk to us about the specific supplier before you plan around it. Some situations are simply a delivery address problem, which your European address solves outright. Others involve trade accounts or territorial agreements that are between you and the brand, and no forwarder can resolve those — we would rather tell you which one you are facing than take the order and find out later.
