Buy from JD.com and ship to Colombia
China's brand-and-electronics platform, delivering inside China. Get a free Chinese address, order as a local customer would, combine several orders into one shipment, and we forward it to Colombia.

Why Colombians cannot order from JD.com directly
JD's consumer platform delivers inside China
The site is built for domestic delivery. From outside the country there is no address you can enter at checkout, whatever the listing says.
Chinese-market electronics, Chinese grid
220 V, 50 Hz and Chinese plug types. Universal 100–240 V supplies travel anywhere; anything else needs the destination's grid checked first.
The warranty is a Chinese warranty
A device bought for the Chinese market is serviced in China. On an expensive phone or laptop that is a real consideration, and it is better weighed before the purchase.

Why JD is the grown-up option among Chinese platforms
If Taobao is the market and Pinduoduo is the discount bin, JD.com is the department store. Much of what it sells is first-party — bought, warehoused and shipped by JD itself — which is why it is where Chinese buyers go for electronics, appliances and brand-name goods when they do not want to gamble on a seller. That structure is the whole reason to prefer it: authenticity is far less of a question here than on a pure marketplace.
What it is not is international. JD's consumer platform delivers inside China, the interface is Chinese and payment runs on local rails. A receiving address in China is what puts your order inside its delivery area, and from there we forward it.
Two things to plan around, and they are the ones that actually bite on electronics. First, voltage and plugs: everything here is built for the Chinese grid at 220 V and 50 Hz with Chinese plug types.
That is workable in Chile and in the 220 V parts of Brazil with an adapter, and a genuine problem in Mexico at 127 V and Colombia at 110 V — unless the device has a universal 100–240 V supply, which most laptops, phones and cameras do. Second, warranty: a Chinese-market device carries a Chinese-market warranty, serviced in China.
On a phone or a laptop that is worth thinking about before you buy, not after.
What travels best: phones and tablets, laptops, cameras and lenses, audio, computer components, smart-home devices and brand-name goods where JD's first-party stock removes the authenticity question.
For Colombia, Colombia has no free-trade agreement with China, so the DIAN's VAT relief for FTA-origin goods does not apply. And the grid at 110 V rules out Chinese-market appliances — universal-supply electronics only.
- First-party stock — the reason to choose JD over a pure marketplace
- Phones, laptops, cameras, audio and components: high value, low weight
- Brand-name goods where authenticity matters
- ⚠️ Chinese-market devices carry a Chinese-market warranty, serviced in China
- ⚠️ 220 V / 50 Hz and Chinese plugs — fine for Chile, wrong for Mexico and Colombia
- ⚠️ Look for a 100–240 V universal supply: most laptops, phones and cameras have one
- ⚠️ Chinese interface and local payment rails: plan for both
What the DIAN actually charges on a parcel to Colombia (2026)
Two numbers decide what a parcel pays in Colombia, and most guides mix them up. The DIAN's own page for tráfico postal y envíos urgentes puts the tributos aduaneros at a 10% customs duty on the FOB value — freight and insurance included — plus 19% IVA. Everything after that is exemptions on top.
On duty, the DIAN states that a shipment whose FOB value is US$200 or less does not pay the customs duty. On IVA there are two separate reliefs, and the first is the one that matters for a European purchase: the DIAN states that these shipments do not pay IVA when they come from countries with a free-trade agreement with Colombia and have no commercial purpose.
Colombia's agreement with the European Union has been in force since 2013 and its agreement with the United States since 2012; it has no such agreement with China or Turkey. Note that what counts is where the goods originate, not where you happened to buy them.
The second relief is temporary: Decreto Legislativo 1474 of 19 December 2025 excludes IVA on shipments worth no more than US$50, and the DIAN has confirmed that this one runs only from 1 January to 31 December 2026. That is what replaced the US$200 IVA figure people still repeat.
What none of this settles is your particular parcel. Whether a shipment counts as non-commercial, and whether its origin is evidenced to the satisfaction of the officer clearing it, is decided at clearance and not before. Read the rules above as the framework, check them against the DIAN page linked below before a large purchase, and be sceptical of anyone who guarantees you an exact final figure.
| Item | What the DIAN states (2026) |
|---|---|
| Customs duty, general rule | 10% of the FOB value, freight and insurance included |
| IVA, general rule | 19% |
| FOB of US$200 or less | Does not pay customs duty |
| Goods originating in an FTA country, no commercial purpose | Do not pay IVA — the EU and the USA have agreements; China and Turkey do not |
| Up to US$50 during 2026 | IVA excluded — Decreto Legislativo 1474/2025, art. 3 |
| The old US$200 IVA figure | Replaced by the US$50 exclusion, and only for 2026 |
Last updated: September 2026. Informational only — not customs or tax advice. The US$50 IVA exclusion is written for the 2026 calendar year, and the relief for shipments from FTA countries depends on the shipment having no commercial purpose and on origin being evidenced at clearance. Buying from JD.com and shipping to Colombia
No. JD.com's consumer platform delivers inside China, so it does not ship to Colombia. You can still buy there with a receiving address in the store's own country: we take delivery, hold your parcels while you finish shopping, and forward them to you.
Because much of JD's stock is first-party — bought, warehoused and shipped by JD itself — which takes most of the authenticity question off the table. On electronics and brand-name goods that is worth a lot.
Laptops, phones, tablets and cameras almost always have a universal 100–240 V supply and travel fine with a plug adapter. Anything with a motor or a heating element is built for the Chinese grid at 220 V and 50 Hz, which suits Chile and the 220 V parts of Brazil far better than Mexico or Colombia.
A Chinese-market device carries a Chinese-market warranty, serviced in China. That is not a reason not to buy, but it is a reason to think about it before an expensive purchase rather than after.
Yes, and it is the cheapest way to buy from China. All of them deliver to the same warehouse address, and everything leaves as one international shipment.
US$200 is still the duty threshold: the DIAN states that a shipment with an FOB value of US$200 or less does not pay the 10% customs duty. What moved is the IVA side — Decreto Legislativo 1474 of December 2025 set the IVA exclusion at US$50, and the DIAN has confirmed it applies only during the 2026 calendar year.
It depends on the values. Consolidating is almost always cheaper on freight, but it raises the FOB value of a single shipment, which is exactly what the US$200 duty threshold looks at. Ask us before you buy and we will price both options so you can compare them.
The DIAN's IVA relief for shipments from FTA countries is written for shipments with no commercial purpose. If you are importing to resell, that is a formal import with its own requirements — talk to us and to a customs agent before ordering, not after the goods are in the air.
