🇮🇹 Amazon returns address in Italy

An Amazon returns address in Italy,
consolidated with the rest of Europe

Amazon.it applies the same local-return rule as Amazon.es: for items up to €25, a merchant-fulfilled seller shipping from abroad gives a return address in Italy or accepts returnless refunds. We receive your Italian returns at our warehouse in Italy, photograph each one, and send them home together with your Spanish and other European returns — boxes or a pallet, one trip.

The problem

Selling in Italy from abroad turns every return into an export.

💸

No Italian address, no item back

Without a return address in Italy, Amazon refunds items up to €25 and the customer keeps them. On a catalogue of accessories, small electronics or fashion basics, that is where most of your returns sit.

🧾

One label per return, paid by you

The alternative is a prepaid international label for every parcel. Amazon's guide leaves no doubt about who pays it: the seller, always, even when the customer is at fault.

🧩

Italy and Spain, handled twice

Sellers present on Amazon.it usually sell on Amazon.es too. Two providers means two contracts, two storage bills and two trips home for returns that could have travelled together.

Amazon.it and the local-return rule

Amazon's European stores share one policy for sellers who ship from outside the marketplace country. Since 5 October 2021, for items up to €25 including VAT, a merchant-fulfilled seller on Amazon.it gives a default return address in Italy or accepts returnless refunds. Amazon's own example is the German store: sell on Amazon.de from outside Germany, and you need a German address. Italy works the same way.

Above €25, a prepaid international label is also allowed, and its cost is always yours. With an Italian address, customers return domestically, and a customer-fault return generally does not oblige you to refund the original shipping.

For sellers without a local address, Amazon points to third-party international returns providers and reminds them that customs and duties on the return are their responsibility.

Italy and Spain under one account

Most sellers who reach Amazon.it also sell on Amazon.es, and often on .de and .fr. The returns problem is the same in each, so it makes sense to solve it once. With addresses in Italy, Spain, France and Germany under one account, you see every return in one panel, with its photo and its status.

The savings are in the trip home. Italian and Spanish returns can be combined before they leave Europe, because moving goods between EU countries involves no customs. One consolidated export replaces two, and a pallet may become worth it sooner than with either market alone.

Where that consolidation happens is a planning decision made with you: it depends on volumes, product types and your final destination.

  • Addresses in Italy, Spain, France, Germany and the UK — the five big Amazon Europe stores
  • One panel: every return with its check-in photo and status
  • Italian + Spanish returns combined before export: intra-EU, no customs
  • One export declaration and one international leg instead of several

What happens to each Italian return

Each parcel is checked in and photographed on arrival, with contents and visible damage verified. Announce expected returns in your panel with the marketplace's tracking number; unannounced parcels are still received, with a small manual booking surcharge.

From there you decide: keep it for the next consolidated shipment, have it prepared to go back into an Amazon fulfilment centre, or have it destroyed securely. Storage includes the free days of your plan, with an official limit of 30 days, a daily fee after that and extensions case by case.

Small parcels leaving the EU under €1,000 follow simplified export formalities; a larger consolidated shipment needs a formal export declaration, supported by the commercial invoice and packing list.

Last updated: 23 September 2026. Export formalities summarized from the European Commission's guidance on low-value consignments; not customs advice. What we do with your returns, and what we do not

Being precise about the boundary is more useful than a list of promises. We give you an address at our warehouse in the country where your customers return, and every parcel that arrives is checked in and photographed. That check covers what you need first: does the content match what you sold, and is there visible damage. An in-depth inspection is available when you want it, as an optional service with its own fee.

The returns then wait for you. Each plan includes free storage days; the official limit is 30 days, after which a daily fee applies, and it can be extended case by case.

When you decide, we consolidate and repack — optional services, priced per plan — and ship them to your warehouse as boxes or a pallet, with the commercial invoice and packing list the business shipment needs. We can also prepare goods to go back into an Amazon fulfilment centre, or destroy them securely.

What we are not: the seller of record, a liquidator, or your customs broker at origin. The refund decision and the conversation with your customer stay in your Seller Central, with our photos as evidence. We do not quote transit times we cannot control, and we do not tell you a return will re-enter your country free of duty.

  • A local address in the country where your customers return — Spain, Italy and eight more countries
  • Every parcel checked in and photographed; contents and visible damage verified
  • In-depth inspection, consolidation, repacking, extended storage and secure destruction: optional, priced per plan
  • Free storage days by plan; official limit 30 days, then a daily fee, extendable case by case
  • Back to your warehouse as boxes or a pallet, with commercial invoice and packing list
  • Not: seller of record, liquidator, customs broker at origin — and no transit-time promises

Found a Zalando deal that was EU-only. Used Resendify, got the item shipped to Dubai without any issues. The customs documentation was all handled — that's the part I usually dread.
