Why Chileans cannot order from Primor directly
Primor delivers to Spain and Portugal
Primor's shipping reach covers Spain and Portugal, with no other international destinations. Without a Spanish address there is no way to order at all.
Spanish beauty pricing
Primor's whole proposition is price against the department-store counter, in euros, on a catalogue built for the Spanish market.
Fragrance is dangerous goods by air
Perfume and aerosols are restricted on aircraft. It is the single most important thing to know before ordering beauty from abroad, and almost nobody says it up front.

Buying beauty from Primor — including the part that cannot fly
Primor is where Spain buys beauty on price: a very wide catalogue of fragrance, make-up, skincare, haircare and tools, with a reputation built on undercutting the department-store counter. Its delivery reach is Spain and Portugal — no other international destinations — so a Spanish receiving address is the only way to shop it from abroad.
Before you fill a basket, one thing matters more than any discount, and most forwarding sites will not tell you: **fragrance and aerosols are dangerous goods by air.** Perfume is alcohol-based and falls under the same rules as any flammable liquid, and hairsprays, dry shampoos and deodorant sprays are pressurised.
Depending on the exact item, air carriers may refuse it outright, accept it only on a cargo aircraft, or accept it subject to approval — and when it can travel, it goes through a dangerous-goods process: inspection, compliant repacking and relabelling, which adds at least five extra business days and carries its own handling charge, starting from €120 and quoted case by case.
On a €40 bottle of perfume that is not a good trade. Tell us what you are planning before you order, and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth it.
What travels without any of that drama is most of the rest of the shop: make-up, skincare, haircare that is not pressurised, brushes, tools and accessories. That is where a Primor basket actually makes sense from Latin America — light, high value per kilo, and a catalogue depth that local beauty retail does not match.
Two smaller cautions worth knowing: cosmetics carry a period-after-opening symbol and a shelf life, so buying two years of supply is not always clever; and creams do not enjoy sitting in a hot warehouse, which is another argument for consolidating and shipping rather than storing for months.
| Category | Travels by air? |
|---|---|
| Make-up, skincare, brushes and tools | Yes — light, high value per kilo, no restriction |
| Haircare and styling, non-pressurised | Yes |
| Perfume and eau de toilette | Dangerous goods — restricted, and often not worth the surcharge |
| Hairspray, dry shampoo, deodorant sprays | Pressurised — same dangerous-goods restrictions |
| Nail polish and acetone removers | Flammable — treated as dangerous goods |
Last updated: September 2026. Dangerous-goods treatment depends on the exact product and on the carrier: an item may be forbidden, accepted only on a cargo aircraft, or accepted subject to approval. Ask us before ordering rather than after, and we will tell you what is possible for your specific list.
Chile removed the US$41 exemption — what that means for you (2026)
If you last bought from abroad a couple of years ago, the rules you remember are gone. Until October 2025 an international purchase under US$41 entered Chile free of IVA and duty, and more than nine out of ten parcels arriving in the country used that band. On 25 October 2025 the exemption was eliminated. Today every international purchase is subject to 19% IVA, whatever it cost.
How that IVA reaches you depends on where you bought. For purchases up to US$500 on platforms registered with the Servicio de Impuestos Internos, the platform charges the 19% at checkout and the parcel is not charged again at the border.
Whether the shop you are buying from is on that register is worth checking before you order: if it is, the 19% appears at checkout; if it is not, the tax is settled when the shipment enters the country instead. Neither route is cheaper than the other — what changes is when you pay and who collects it, and being surprised at the door is the part worth avoiding.
Above US$500 the shipment leaves the simplified treatment and clears normally, where ad valorem duty can apply on top of IVA. Chile has trade agreements with the European Union, the United States, China and Turkey, among others, and their tariff preferences can reduce that duty when the origin of the goods is properly evidenced — a question decided at clearance, on the documentation that travels with the shipment.
| Item | Rule (2026) |
|---|---|
| The old US$41 exemption | Eliminated on 25 October 2025 |
| IVA | 19% on every international purchase, any value |
| Bought on an SII-registered platform, up to US$500 | IVA charged at checkout, not again at the border |
| Bought from a shop not on the SII register | IVA settled on entry instead of at checkout |
| Above US$500 | Ordinary clearance; ad valorem duty may apply |
| Trade agreements (EU, USA, China, Turkey…) | Can reduce duty where the origin of the goods is evidenced |

Buying from Primor and shipping to Chile
No. Primor delivers to Spain and Portugal and offers no other international destinations, so it does not ship to Chile. You can still buy there with a receiving address in the store's own country: we take delivery, hold your parcels while you finish shopping, and forward them to you.
No. Primor delivers to Spain and Portugal and does not offer other international destinations. A Spanish receiving address is what lets you order as a customer in Spain would.
Sometimes, and it depends on the exact product and the carrier. Fragrance is alcohol-based and counts as dangerous goods by air, so it may be forbidden, restricted to a cargo aircraft, or accepted subject to approval. Same answer. Pressurised containers fall under the same air restrictions as fragrance. Non-pressurised haircare travels normally.
Make-up, skincare, non-pressurised haircare, brushes, tools and accessories. They are light, high in value per kilo and completely unrestricted, which is exactly the profile that makes forwarding worthwhile.
They carry a period-after-opening symbol and a shelf life, so stocking up for two years is not always the bargain it looks like. It is also a reason not to leave creams sitting in storage for months before shipping.
No. The US$41 exemption was eliminated on 25 October 2025. Every international purchase is now subject to 19% IVA regardless of value.
Because AliExpress is registered with the SII, and for purchases up to US$500 registered platforms collect the 19% at the point of sale. European stores generally are not registered, so the IVA on those purchases is settled when the shipment enters Chile instead.
It does not touch IVA, which is due either way. What the agreement can affect is customs duty on shipments that clear ordinarily, and only when origin is properly evidenced at clearance.
