The problem

Why Colombians cannot order from Cdiscount directly

🇫🇷

Cdiscount delivers in mainland France

There is no overseas delivery option at checkout. Cdiscount's own site directs international customers to use a French delivery address and a reshipping service — which is precisely what we provide.

💶

French pricing on a French catalogue

Cdiscount competes on price inside France, and much of what makes it interesting — French-market brands and French promotions — never reaches a local shelf.

🛒

Marketplace and first-party are not the same thing

A large share of listings come from third-party sellers whose packaging and timelines vary. On anything expensive or fragile, that distinction is worth checking before you buy.

Stop reading "we don't ship to your country".

A real local address at checkout is all that stands between you and that cart.

How to buy on Cdiscount from outside France

Cdiscount is one of the biggest e-commerce sites in France and it competes on one thing above all: price. Electronics, appliances, home, DIY, toys, furniture — a catalogue wide enough that most French households end up there at some point, with a first-party side and a large marketplace alongside it.

Its delivery reach is mainland France. Cdiscount does not deliver overseas, and rather than pretend otherwise its own site points customers to a reshipping service and a French delivery address. That is exactly the route we provide: you get a real French receiving address, you order as a customer in Lyon would, and we forward the parcel.

Two things worth planning around. The first is the marketplace: a good share of listings come from third-party sellers, and their delivery times and packaging vary more than the first-party stock does. If a purchase is expensive or fragile, prefer the items Cdiscount sells and ships itself. The second is electrical: France runs at 230 V and 50 Hz with type E sockets.

Devices with a universal 100–240 V supply travel anywhere; anything with a heating element or a motor built for French mains is a bad idea in Mexico at 127 V or Colombia at 110 V, and a reasonable one in Chile at 220 V.

What is genuinely worth forwarding: small electronics and accessories, computer parts, hobby and toys, French-market brands with no local distribution, and the kind of home goods that are cheap in France and inexplicably expensive at home. Skip the furniture and the large appliances — the weight eats the saving.

  • Small electronics, accessories and computer parts — high value, low weight
  • Toys, hobby and games at French prices
  • French-market brands with no local distributor
  • ⚠️ Much of the catalogue is marketplace: prefer first-party stock for expensive items
  • ⚠️ France is 230 V / 50 Hz, type E — fine for Chile, wrong for Mexico and Colombia
  • ⚠️ Skip furniture and large appliances: the weight eats the saving

What the DIAN actually charges on a parcel to Colombia (2026)

Two numbers decide what a parcel pays in Colombia, and most guides mix them up. The DIAN's own page for tráfico postal y envíos urgentes puts the tributos aduaneros at a 10% customs duty on the FOB value — freight and insurance included — plus 19% IVA. Everything after that is exemptions on top.

On duty, the DIAN states that a shipment whose FOB value is US$200 or less does not pay the customs duty. On IVA there are two separate reliefs, and the first is the one that matters for a European purchase: the DIAN states that these shipments do not pay IVA when they come from countries with a free-trade agreement with Colombia and have no commercial purpose.

Colombia's agreement with the European Union has been in force since 2013 and its agreement with the United States since 2012; it has no such agreement with China or Turkey. Note that what counts is where the goods originate, not where you happened to buy them.

The second relief is temporary: Decreto Legislativo 1474 of 19 December 2025 excludes IVA on shipments worth no more than US$50, and the DIAN has confirmed that this one runs only from 1 January to 31 December 2026. That is what replaced the US$200 IVA figure people still repeat.

What none of this settles is your particular parcel. Whether a shipment counts as non-commercial, and whether its origin is evidenced to the satisfaction of the officer clearing it, is decided at clearance and not before. Read the rules above as the framework, check them against the DIAN page linked below before a large purchase, and be sceptical of anyone who guarantees you an exact final figure.

Last updated: September 2026. Informational only — not customs or tax advice. The US$50 IVA exclusion is written for the 2026 calendar year, and the relief for shipments from FTA countries depends on the shipment having no commercial purpose and on origin being evidenced at clearance. Finally a service that actually works for buying from Spanish stores. I ordered from Zara España, MANGO and El Corte Inglés in the same week — everything arrived consolidated in one box. Shipping to LA was way cheaper than I expected.

Found a Zalando deal that was EU-only. Used Resendify, got the item shipped to Dubai without any issues. The customs documentation was all handled — that's the part I usually dread.

FAQ

Buying from Cdiscount and shipping to Colombia

No. Cdiscount delivers in mainland France and does not ship overseas, so it does not deliver to Colombia. You can still buy there with a receiving address in the store's own country: we take delivery, hold your parcels while you finish shopping, and forward them to you.

No. Cdiscount delivers in mainland France and does not ship overseas. Its own site points international customers towards a French delivery address and a reshipping service, which is the route a receiving address in France gives you.

For inexpensive items either is fine. For anything expensive or fragile, prefer what Cdiscount sells and ships itself: packaging and handling are more consistent, which matters when a parcel is about to cross an ocean.

France runs at 230 V and 50 Hz. Devices with a universal 100–240 V supply are fine anywhere with a plug adapter; anything with a heating element or a motor is built for French mains, which suits Chile far better than Mexico or Colombia.

Yes, and it is the cheapest way. Send Cdiscount, Darty and anything else to the same French address, and everything leaves as one international shipment.

US$200 is still the duty threshold: the DIAN states that a shipment with an FOB value of US$200 or less does not pay the 10% customs duty. What moved is the IVA side — Decreto Legislativo 1474 of December 2025 set the IVA exclusion at US$50, and the DIAN has confirmed it applies only during the 2026 calendar year.

It depends on the values. Consolidating is almost always cheaper on freight, but it raises the FOB value of a single shipment, which is exactly what the US$200 duty threshold looks at. Ask us before you buy and we will price both options so you can compare them.

The DIAN's IVA relief for shipments from FTA countries is written for shipments with no commercial purpose. If you are importing to resell, that is a formal import with its own requirements — talk to us and to a customs agent before ordering, not after the goods are in the air.
