How to buy on Zalando from outside Europe
Zalando is the biggest fashion platform in Europe: north of a thousand brands, from Adidas and Levi's to labels that have no distribution at all on your side of the Atlantic. It is also, deliberately, a European business. Zalando runs about thirty markets and every one of them is in Europe — there is no Brazilian, Mexican, Chilean or Colombian Zalando, and no checkout that will accept your address. That is the whole reason this page exists.
The workflow is unglamorous and it works. Open a free Resendify account, take your German receiving address, and shop zalando.de exactly as a customer in Berlin would. Enter the address at checkout, let Zalando deliver domestically — which is the cheap, fast leg of the journey — and tell us where to forward it. While your parcels sit at the warehouse you can keep ordering: every membership includes free storage days, and everything leaves as one shipment.
One thing is worth planning around before you fill a basket: returns. You are buying from a European shop, so the return address is European — which means a return is easy while the parcel is still with us and slow and expensive once it has crossed an ocean.
Buy as if it were final, use the EU size charts rather than converting twice, and when you are between sizes, order both and send one back *before* we forward the parcel. That is the one moment when returning costs you almost nothing.
For Chile, remember that Zalando is not registered with the SII, so the 19% IVA on your order is not collected at the Zalando checkout the way AliExpress collects it. It is settled when the shipment enters the country. Nothing unusual — just budget for it at the start rather than at the door.

Chile removed the US$41 exemption — what that means for you (2026)
If you last bought from abroad a couple of years ago, the rules you remember are gone. Until October 2025 an international purchase under US$41 entered Chile free of IVA and duty, and more than nine out of ten parcels arriving in the country used that band. On 25 October 2025 the exemption was eliminated. Today every international purchase is subject to 19% IVA, whatever it cost.
How that IVA reaches you depends on where you bought. For purchases up to US$500 on platforms registered with the Servicio de Impuestos Internos, the platform charges the 19% at checkout and the parcel is not charged again at the border.
Whether the shop you are buying from is on that register is worth checking before you order: if it is, the 19% appears at checkout; if it is not, the tax is settled when the shipment enters the country instead. Neither route is cheaper than the other — what changes is when you pay and who collects it, and being surprised at the door is the part worth avoiding.
Above US$500 the shipment leaves the simplified treatment and clears normally, where ad valorem duty can apply on top of IVA. Chile has trade agreements with the European Union, the United States, China and Turkey, among others, and their tariff preferences can reduce that duty when the origin of the goods is properly evidenced — a question decided at clearance, on the documentation that travels with the shipment.

Yes, while the parcel is still with us in Europe: that return is domestic and simple. Once we have forwarded it to you, sending it back across an ocean is slow and usually costs more than it recovers, so treat forwarded orders as final.
