Why buy from Mango Spain for Australia?

Euro prices and EU-exclusive styles — delivered to Australia

Mango is a Barcelona-born brand priced in euros on its Spanish site — consistently 20–30% below Australian retail. Spain-exclusive styles and deeper seasonal sales make it a top pick for Australian fashion shoppers. Australian retail prices on European brands include significant import markups. Buying direct from Europe with a Resendify forwarding address typically saves 20–40% versus buying the same items in Australia. Shipping time from Europe to Australia depends on the carrier and service level you choose. Resendify prepares all GST and border-force documentation so your parcel clears customs smoothly.

What to buy from Mango Spain (and why the Spanish site wins)

Mango runs a localised Australian storefront (shop.mango.com/au), but it carries a narrower, AUD-marked-up assortment and gets seasonal drops later than the Spanish flagship. The Spanish/EU site (shop.mango.com/es) is the mothership: every line, the broadest size and colour range, the earliest drops, EU-only exclusives, and limited designer capsules — like the Victoria Beckham x Mango tailoring capsule — that often sell out or never reach Australia at all. Prices are set in EUR on the home market, where they are typically lower than the AUD-converted local tags, so forwarding from an EU warehouse lets you buy the full Spanish range at base prices and have several pieces consolidated into one parcel to Australia.

  • Tailoring and suit separates — blazers, waistcoats and matching trousers, Mango's signature year-round bestseller category
  • Linen edit — linen suit blazers, linen midi/maxi dresses and wide-leg linen trousers, the defining summer line
  • Occasion and slip dresses — satin, draped and midi styles for events and the Australian summer
  • Designer collaborations and capsules — e.g. the Victoria Beckham x Mango tailoring capsule, limited drops that sell out and rarely reach the local market
  • Coats and trench coats — wool-blend coats and trenches that recur on celebrity and editorial wish-lists
  • Leather and faux-leather jackets, knitwear and denim staples, plus Mango Man, Mango Kids, shoes, bags and accessories
The problem

Mango Spain doesn't ship to Australia. Here's the fix.

🚫

Mango Spain ships within Europe only

Mango Spain's European site ships only within Europe. Australian shoppers are limited to local retailers that charge a significant import premium on the same products.

💸

Australian retail prices are 20–40% higher

European brands sold in Australia include distributor margins and import costs that inflate the price well above direct EU purchasing.

👗

EU-exclusive styles not available in Australia

Some EU collections and colourways are never released in the Australian market. Ordering direct from Europe gives access to the complete range.

Sizing for Australian shoppers: EU ↔ UK/AU and Mango's fit

Mango uses European sizing throughout, shown as both EU numbers and XS–XXL letters. Good news for Australian shoppers: EU/UK maps almost 1:1 to AU women's, because AU women's clothing sizes equal UK sizes and Mango broadly follows UK sizing. Use the table below as your baseline. Fit note: Mango tends to cut slim through the shoulders, bust and hips, and tailored blazers and dresses can run snug, so curvier or fuller-bust shoppers often size up one. Some individual styles carry their own 'runs small' guidance, so always check the per-product size chart before ordering — returns to Spain are slow and self-paid from Australia, so getting size right the first time matters most here. Shoes are listed in EU sizes (roughly EU 36–42 for the typical women's range).

  • AU women's = UK sizes, and Mango broadly follows UK sizing, so the conversion is near 1:1
  • Runs slim through shoulders, bust and hips — curvier or fuller-bust shoppers often size up one in blazers and fitted dresses
  • Shoes use EU sizing (typical women's range EU 36–42); check each product's chart
  • Always read the per-product size chart and any 'runs small' note before ordering — returns from Australia are slow and self-paid

Customs & import duty: EU → Australia

Here is the version most forwarders won't tell you. Australia has a high duty de minimis: if the customs value of your parcel is AUD 1,000 or less, there is no customs duty and no import processing charge (alcohol and tobacco are the exceptions). Above AUD 1,000, customs duty (often around 5% MFN on apparel, footwear, leather and cosmetics; many electronics 0–5%) plus the import processing charge are collected at the border. The EU–Australia free trade agreement is not yet in force, so standard MFN rates still apply—there is no preferential discount on EU-origin goods.

The catch is GST. Australia charges 10% GST with no tax-free threshold, so even a low-value parcel is taxed. On goods valued at AUD 1,000 or less, that 10% is collected up front at checkout by the overseas seller, the platform, or the re-deliverer/forwarder (vendor-collected, DDP-style). Above AUD 1,000, GST is paid at the border together with any customs duty and the import processing charge. And to be straight with you: shipping to your EU forwarding address means EU VAT is charged at purchase and is generally not reclaimable by a private consumer—the tourist refund scheme requires you to personally export the goods with a customs stamp, which forwarding does not provide.

We estimate your full landed cost—item + shipping + estimated duty and GST—before you ship, so you can plan with a realistic estimate. Create your free EU forwarding address and run the calculator.

The VAT reality: honest framing, no false refund promise

Let's be straight about tax. Mango's Spanish prices are shown VAT-inclusive, so Spanish VAT is already baked into the EUR sticker. When you ship to an EU forwarding address the order is delivered within the EU, so EU VAT is charged and — as a private consumer using a forwarding address — it is generally NOT reclaimable. A tourist VAT refund requires you to personally export the goods with a customs stamp on leaving the EU, which a forwarder cannot do for you, so we will never promise a VAT refund through forwarding. The real value is different and still substantial: you reach Mango's full Spanish flagship catalogue at EUR base prices (typically lower than AUD-converted local tags), unlock EU-only lines and sell-out designer capsules the Australian site never stocks, and consolidate several pieces into one optimised parcel. On multi-item orders that combination frequently beats the local AU price. Separately, Australia's own 10% GST still applies on import (see the landed-cost section).

EU VAT is included in Spanish prices and is generally not reclaimable by a private consumer shipping via a forwarding address. Forwarding does not provide a VAT refund. Australian GST (10%) and any duty are assessed separately on import. Information is indicative, not tax advice; verify current rules before ordering. Source: ATO — GST on low value imported goods.

Shipping Mango Spain → Australia: weights, consolidation and cost

Most Mango orders are light, which works in your favour. A single dress, shirt or pair of trousers is roughly 0.3–0.6 kg packaged; a blazer or tailored jacket around 0.7–1.0 kg; a wool coat or trench 1.2–1.8 kg. A typical 2–4 garment order commonly lands in the ~1–2.5 kg range — ideal for consolidated forwarding. International couriers bill on whichever is greater of actual weight or volumetric (dimensional) weight, so a single puffy coat in a big box can be 'charged' heavier than it really is. The fix is consolidation: ship several Mango pieces to your free EU address, have them packed into one right-sized parcel, and pay one optimised shipment to Australia instead of several.

  • Single garment ~0.3–0.6 kg; blazer ~0.7–1.0 kg; wool coat/trench ~1.2–1.8 kg
  • Typical 2–4 item order ~1–2.5 kg — well suited to one consolidated parcel to Australia
  • Carriers charge the greater of actual vs volumetric weight — consolidation and right-sizing the box keeps that in check
  • Register a free EU forwarding address, then run your exact basket through the on-page calculator for a live AUD shipping number

Worked example: what a Mango Spain order really lands at in Australia

Here is a dated, illustrative example so you can plan ahead. Say you buy a linen suit blazer, a linen midi dress and a pair of wide-leg linen trousers on shop.mango.com/es for about EUR 175 (roughly AUD 290 at mid-2026 rates), forwarded together as one ~1.5 kg parcel. Because the order is well under Australia's AUD 1,000 duty de minimis, there is zero customs duty and no import processing charge at the border. The only tax is Australia's 10% GST, which has NO tax-free threshold — it applies even to low-value goods and, on orders at or below AUD 1,000, is collected on the sale (by the seller, platform or the re-deliverer/forwarder) rather than billed at the border, so the parcel clears cleanly. Add forwarding and you have a realistic estimate of your full landed cost. The same three pieces on Mango Australia would carry GST-inclusive AUD tags with local market margin on top, so even after GST and shipping, buying at the Spanish source typically still wins — and unlocks pieces the AU site simply does not stock. Run your exact basket through the on-page calculator for a live number, then claim your free Spanish address to start.

  • At or below AUD 1,000 customs value: 0 duty and 0 import processing charge (excludes tobacco/alcohol)
  • 10% GST always applies (no tax-free threshold) and is collected on the sale at checkout, not at the border
  • Above AUD 1,000: 10% GST + ~5% apparel MFN duty + an import processing charge (~AUD 50-200+) are paid at the border
  • Consolidating items into one parcel keeps shipping per item low and is the main saving lever

Illustrative example only, dated 14 June 2026 — not a quote. Item prices, EUR/AUD rate and forwarding cost vary; GST is shown at 10% of item value as a planning figure. Australia's customs duty de minimis is AUD 1,000 customs value (no duty at or below it), but 10% GST has no tax-free threshold and applies on low-value goods, collected on the sale at or below AUD 1,000. Above AUD 1,000, duty (~5% on apparel) plus 10% GST plus an import processing charge (~AUD 50-200+) apply at the border. The EU-Australia FTA is not yet in force, so MFN rates still apply. Returns to Spain from Australia: the main friction, handled

Returns are the real friction with forwarding, so plan around them. Mango's return window is 30 days from the dispatch date — not delivery — so international transit time eats into it, and that transit time depends on the carrier and service level you choose. Mango does not offer free returns to non-EU destinations: for an order shipped outside the EU you must request a returns invoice by email, print it, and pay the return shipping yourself. Refunds land on the original payment method roughly 3–12 business days after the Spanish warehouse receives the item, and capsule/collaboration pieces carry a shorter 14-day window. The practical takeaway: nail size and fit before you order using the per-product size chart and fit notes, and treat purchases as largely final.
