Sending personal parcels from Spain to Venezuela: taxes, limits and what cannot go
Personal parcels enter Venezuela under a courier regime set by Resolution 3283 of 1997. Personal effects worth up to US$100 are free of duties and taxes; shipments up to US$2,000 per waybill can use the simplified courier declaration, and anything above follows the ordinary import procedure. Door-to-door box companies have applied these rules more strictly since July 2025.
Above US$100, expect duty for the product plus 16% VAT and customs fees, paid in Venezuela. Many box operators charge a flat amount per box or per declared value instead; that is their pricing, not the law. Air capacity from Spain is limited in 2026 after the June earthquakes.
